We are embarking on a whole new life
adventure! We will have been married 12 years this coming June
(2007) and up until now, we have only known life with the two of
us and then eventually our chocolate lab Bosco! In just a few
months, we will have not only delivered our son, Griffin
Everett, but David will have also traveled to China to bring our
daughter Ainsley Xia'an home to our family. Our home is getting
filled with baby items that we still need to learn how to
operate. We have a nursery completed with two cribs and we're
still completing lots of paperwork in order to finalize our
adoption of Ainsley.
Meet Our Family...
David & Shannon
Since April 2005 when we first made the decision to pursue the
adoption and started our way on the parenthood journey, we have
been keeping busy with lots of things! We were fortunate to take
a few vacations, attended several Chinese cultural events around
Pittsburgh, including the Chinese Dragon Boat festival and the
University of Pittsburgh's Chinese Spring Festival and New Year
event. David has been learning Chinese (Mandarin) and has become
quite fluent in basic conversation, Shannon has continued to
prepare our home for two children as well as many other things.
We are both excited to see our family grow and watch our
children develop their unique personalities. And, we can't wait
for our first family vacation where our children can start to
learn to appreciate the world we live in!
Griffin Everett |
Griffin Everett
Griffin was born on March 9, 2007 at 1:17pm! We're excited to
welcome this little guy into our home! David is looking forward
to taking his first mountain bike ride or tae kwon do kick with
this guy (but it might be a while). And Shannon is looking
forward to taking Griffin on play dates with her friends' little
boys and girls. And we are sure Ainsley is looking forward to
meeting Griffin and being a great big sister!
Ainsley Xia'an
Born April 5, 2006…we anticipate bringing her home sometime this
April. David is looking forward to taking her on a movie date
(like he did with his 4-year-old niece, Katelyn, not too long
ago to see "Over the Hedge"). And Shannon is looking forward to
the first moment she gets to see Ainsley at the airport when
David and the "traveling grandmas" return from China. See "About Ainsley" for lots of details about our precious
daughter.
Bosco Buddy
Bosco has had life revolve around him for the past 7 years and
life is about to change for him too! He has been great with our
friends' children and becomes quite the protector. He already
enjoys hanging out in the nursery!
The biggest thing that has kept us busy has been the timing of
our pregnancy and our adoption. We had always hoped to build our
family by both experiences, but we never could have anticipated
they would happen at the same time! Now our family is about to
change forever! We are eager for you all to meet the newest
members very soon!
