We
have our travel approval from China and are ready to go get
Ainsley! Our airline tickets are booked and our hotel is
confirmed! And we will soon be packed! David and both of our
moms (the two grandmas!) are leaving for China on March 31,
2007! Shannon will be staying home to care for Griffin Everett,
who was born at 1:17pm on Friday, March 9, 2007. See below for
the details of our upcoming travel:
March 31, 2007 Depart
Pittsburgh for China at 9:50am
(Pittsburgh-Detroit-Tokyo-Guangzhou).
April 1, 2007 Arrive Guangzhou at 10:45pm after a total
of almost 20 hours in an airplane. Check in at The Guangdong
Victory Hotel and go to bed!
April 2, 2007 FREE DAY! (Maybe hire a driver and go to
the orphanage in Maogang about a 4-hour drive away.)
April 3, 2007
"Gotcha Day" when we receive Ainsley in the afternoon (she will
be in our permanent care after this point). Meeting in
the evening with Shiyan, the adoption coordinator in China, to
prepare forms for the adoption registration process tomorrow.
April 4, 2007 Adoption registration and notarization.
April 5, 2007 Celebrate Ainsley's 1st birthday with her
and her grandmas. Apply for Ainsleys passport in the afternoon.
April 6, 2007 Take Ainsley for her medical examination
in the morning.
April 7, 2007 - FREE DAY!
April 8, 2007 FREE DAY! Celebrate our first Easter with
Ainsley. (Maybe go to the Guangzhou Folk Art Museum.)
April 9, 2007 FREE DAY!
April 10, 2007 FREE DAY! (Maybe visit White Cloud
Mountain Park.)
April 11, 2007 Meeting in the afternoon to prepare
documents for appointment at the US Consulate tomorrow morning.
(Happy Birthday to Shannon today!)
April 12, 2007 Appointment at US Consulate to finalize
adoption.
April 13, 2007 Go back to US Consulate at 3pm to take
the oath and receive visa for Ainsley.
April 14, 2007 Depart Guangzhou at 8:20am and arrive
home in Pittsburgh at 6:15pm. Come meet us and welcome Ainsley
home to her new family, including the newest member, her little
brother, Griffin Everett! (If you want to meet us at the airport
upon our return, please coordinate with Shannon.)
