"TOTO WE ARE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE" OR SEATTLE!

We are now in Beijing!!!

We arrived to our room last night around 2:30 a.m. Beijing time. After a full 3 hours night sleep (I did mean 3 hours) for the 3rd night in a row, we got up and went to breakfast with the Huffmans. The Huffmans are from Fishers, are traveling with their 9 year old daughter, and are adopting a 3 year old daughter. We are so lucky to have them on this journey with us! Lexi and Maddie are really enjoying getting to know each other. After breakfast we went back to the room to prepare for our day of sightseeing. In my sleep deprived state I made the stupid mistake of standing in a small bit of water that had leaked from the shower while I was drying my hair. Unfortunately, China does not have the same safety protectors on their hairdryers we do in the States and let me tell you...I was lit up...I was tingling for a while after that. Lexi thought it was hilarious...I had a hard time finding the humor! Glad to still be alive! Also, I found out that being electrocuted doesn't really make your hair frizzy...whoo that's a relief. Glad to dispel that myth.

After we put on our multiple layers of clothing we left for the Great Wall. It was amazing and beautiful. However, it was also very cold. Cold as in do I still have feet and hands? We didn't stay as long as we would have liked due to the lack of blood flowing through our extremities. After we left the Great Wall our guide Grace took us to lunch at a tourist destination. It is a factory that makes beautiful items to sell to tourists. We didn't really buy anything, but the Huffmans made some nice purchases. Our lunch was good. It was served family style with several different Chinese foods to try. Due to the bitter cold, and sleep deprivation we decided to skip the Summer Palace. We are now back at the hotel and the girls are swimming. They have to wear swim caps here, but decided it was worth it.

Tomorrow we leave at 8:30 a.m. to fly to Inner Mongolia. They are suppose to bring Mia to our hotel in the Afternoon! Our next post will be after we have become a family of five. I can't help but to wish Westin was here for tomorrow. I am hoping we all get a good night sleep because in less than 24 hours we will be the parents of a toddler again!

Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers!
