It is hard to believe we have been home over a month, but in some ways it seems much longer. Mia is adjusting well and it is hard to believe she has only been with us for 6 weeks. Every day she learns something new. She is mostly baby babbling but will surprise me with a word every now and then. Her favorite words are Mama and uh-oh. She loves to go grocery shopping, throw my items out of the cart onto the floor, and say uh-oh with a smile. I keep trying to convince her, it is not uh-oh if you throw it on the ground. Good thing she is so cute!

It took us a while to get into the groove when we arrived home. The jet lag was a killer and Lexi became ill with a stomach virus once we arrived home. I am happy to say everyone is back on schedule and currently no one is sick...knock on wood! I have also had to adjust to having a very busy toddler. Since our youngest was 9 years old, I have forgotten how much work toddlers can be. Mia is breaking me in nicely! She is definitely attaching well, seeing since she won't let me out of her sight. I realize this is an anxious attachment, but am attributing it to all the changes she has experienced over the last 2 months. I see her becoming more comfortable by the day.

Her health is better that we expected. You know the saying "prepare for the worst, hope and pray for the best." Well, we definitely received the best! It is hard to put into words what we have experienced over the last few months. Our journey to Mia has been incredible. Five months ago we saw Mia's sweet face on the shared list. Now she is our girl and we are her forever family. We are excited for all the things to come! We would encourage others to give the shared list a chance because there are incredible kids on that list that need forever families. They are such a blessing! We of course were excited and scared after we had locked in her file. We are so very grateful we followed our hearts and truly feel God led us to her.

We are looking forward to warmer weather and all the new experiences Mia will have! We will update this summer. Until then take care!
