WE'RE IN GUANGZHOU

We made it to Guangzhou late last night and checked into the White Swan Hotel. The White Swan Hotel is located on an Island called Shamian Island. Our flight from Beijing was smooth and I was surprised that it was the same size plane as the one from San Francisco to Beijing.

We met our local guide at the airport and she showed us to our Hotel. Steve is still having a hard time sleeping the bed here is even harder than the one in Beijing, it really feels like your sleeping on a boxspring. We have seen several other families that have adopted, but only got to speak with one of them. The picture with the waterfall is in the center of the Hotel, there is a large pond that has lots and lots of Koi fish ( Parker you would love it). We decided to walk around the island today and check out the many stores around. They all sell pretty much the same things so we shopped around comparing prices. We were approach by three separate groups of Chinese girls all wanting to practice their English with us, they asked us lots of questions and one group wanted a picture with us. There are several parks around the island with lots of different statues. One statue is suppose to represent the American couple that comes to China to adopt. Notice how large the woman is and the man is old and bald. There were several groups of people in there 50s and 60s in the park, some were dancing, and some were playing a Chinese version of hacky sack. On our walk we seen at least 20 sets of Brides and Grooms. It's tradition for them to get there pictures done before the wedding so that they can display their wedding picture at their ceremony. The Brides were all very beautiful and each of their dresses were very different, with several of them in colors such as pink or purple.

So tomorrow is the big day, we meet our little girl at 2:30 pm. We will then go on to a Walmart to pick up some water and supplies. We are so excited about this big day and can't wait to share the pictures with you all!

Love you and miss you boys!!!
