Different day, same beginning. We got up and hit the buffet before the mad rush. As the week progresses, the White Swan seems to be filling up with more and more families. Sophie wasn't too hungry this AM, I think she'd prefer to eat after she's been up for more than 15 minutes.

After breakfast we worked on our shopping list, there are a few items I still want to buy but haven't found yet. At 10:00 we met with the other family in our group to go to the toy market. I was able to get the boys some of the GBA games they wanted, I am sure it will be their favorite gift from China ;) We ate lunch afterward in the room, Sophie never seems to tire of Cup O Noodles. She was running around the bed, playing and giggling and we both started laughing hysterically at her silly antics. She is so much fun to be around, such a joy that I feel both awed and amazed at how God has blessed us with this incredible child.

She took a long nap, too long for me since I was cooped up in the room waiting for her to wake up. I've been trying to seize the opportunity to get some preliminary packing done so it's not such a chore on Thursday. After she woke up we went out shopping again, I needed to pick up some more snacks for Miss Sophie. She is easy to shop for, she just points to what she likes! Her favorites are Chinese rice cakes, raisins, noodles, milk and some type of Chinese sausage, similar to Vienna Sausage. I also picked up two more pairs of shoes for Sophie and Isabelle. The shoes here are the cutest, and so cheap! After we returned home with Isabelle I realized that I had grossly underestimated how many pairs of shoes a little girl needs...this time I'm coming home well armed!

Back at the hotel we went down to the playroom and Sophie really cut loose. Her favorite was a playhouse door front that responds to the door opening and closing by saying "hello" and "good bye". She wouldn't stop until she figured out exactly how to make it work the way she wanted. On our way up to the room for the night we checked out the fish one more time, she loves to run from side to side on the bridge, pointing out the biggest fish. We were told that Sophie still takes a bottle and I have been trying to figure out how she takes it, with little success. Finally I realized she likes rice cereal in hers and she drank part of one for me tonight. What was funny is that she couldn't decide which she liked better, the bottle or her thumb for bedtime, but I think the thumb won out ;)

We both went to bed at 9:30 and tonight she initiated some snuggle time. She wriggled her way over to me and flopped around until she found a spot on my chest. She had a hard time getting comfortable, since this is such a new thing for her. It warms my heart to know how many more nights she has ahead of her that she'll be pulled up close to me or her daddy and told how very much she is loved.

I've purchased a few pairs of shoes for the girls...

"Mom, look at that fish!"

At bedtime which is better: the thumb or the bottle?
